Carolyn Marie Photography had another wonderful opportunity to work alongside numerous small business owners for the Central American Collective last Friday.
Though going into full detail of my photography adventure is my norm, I would rather share a few of the magnificent business owners, creatives, and entrepreneurs I was honored to meet at the event.
Maria Duran of Duran Concepts created an evening enriched with networking, collaborative innovation and some REALLY good music. Let's not forget the delicious food catered by Little Casita Mexican Restaurant as well.
The evening started off with some of my favorite music, salsa! In the mix was a talented young man named, Noel, a Texas Southern University alumni and infamous DJ on KRBE. You can find more on him with a kind follow here.

Another fellow who rocked the evening is Javier Kafie, who was the Production Manager for the movie, La Palabra de Pablo and debuting his film screening tonight at Houston Holocaust Museum for his movie, Cuatro Puntos Cardinales.
Lastly, a gentleman by the name of Cris Tetzintla is the Founder and CFO of Noyolo Love which helps the next generation of children who are in need in the surrounding Houston area. This non-profit organization is a faith-based organization bridging gaps for our youth.

Other businesses such as The Law Office of Edwin Reyes, Atlantida Connect and many others joined in, collaborating and generating strategies for a successful community but it was on my heart to showcase these fine young men and women we have in our own backyard.
Though they are often overlooked, they continue to make waves in our surrounding Houston area and which makes me a proud Houstonian.
Last but not least, the next group of ladies have a special place in my heart. Though they are not a small business, they have shaken up all parts of the United States and it all starts in college.
The ladies, rather Sisters of Kappa Delta Chi, Inc. are a group of like-minded women who change the world one step at a time.
Our goal (yes, this is my sorority) is a "national sorority who aims to achieve professional development, academic excellence, and graduation of all is members; an organization dedicated to community service to their local university communities with an emphasis on the Hispanic/Latino population."
Please excuse me while I toot our horns but ladies, we are DOING it!

Back in 2006 I made a decision to uphold a level of love and respect for others and even though life has unfolded, I am honored to have had the opportunity to support my sister, Maria on another successful event. Whether, we are HR Directors, head honchos at BBVA, HPD Officers, photographers or stay at home moms, we are success!
I am happy to see our group of sisters come together and support one another as we agreed to do years and years ago. It is a blessing and an honor to be called a sister of Kappa Delta Chi. No matter if they are in Houston or across the coast; being part of a beautiful community of ladies who dedicate themselves to help others, is exactly how people grow in their business adventures and life endeavors.
