As many of you know, the November series is about sharing my daily gratitude to God for all He has done for me. Though it may seem redundant, it has already made a serious impact on my daily routine.
After four, long months of twiddling my thumbs, it has been a whirlwind of portrait sessions, events, and weddings. Let me tell you, it feels good to be busy!
Being a weekend warrior is definitely not for the faint of heart. To all of the creatives, coordinators, artists, planners, bakers, etc who give away their weekends to offer their services for others to have an extraordinary wedding day is such a blessing.
As a photographer, I do not think about the weekend as it flies by but rather the beautiful wedding vows shared and the toasts being given. This was not quite the case about six months ago. I was far from praising these lovely moments because I was having to 'give up' a beautiful weekend to make ends meet. Silly I know, but we all tend to learn soon rather than later.
It took God to take my job to its bare minimum for me to get a serious wake up call. Boy did it work!
So today I want to praise God for three full days of photographing, editing, positioning, editing, uploading, downloading, culling, separating, organizing, preparing, mounting, sore thighs, raspy voice, tired feet and numerous SD cards which all need attention!
Father, thank you. Thank you for opening up doors which I slammed shut. Thank you for changing the position of my heart and giving me heart to be creative for Your glory. Thank you Father God for Your provisions and an imaginative nature. Most of all thank you loving me enough to never give up on me, especially when I deserved it. Thank you Father for providing wonderful friends and family who support and guide me. Thank you for their generosity in sharing my business cards and providing incredible referrals. Thank you Father for putting good ethics in my genes so I may treat everyone fairly and with the upmost respect. Thank you for my personality, one which can make people laugh and also put people at ease. Thank you Father for a heart of giving, a mind of artistry and a heart which wants nothing more than to follow You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
